Take the uncertainty out of working with a freelance designer by providing a creative brief at the beginning of the project. This will lay out all of the information about your business and your expectations for your project so both you and your designer are on the same page. Make sure you’re getting exactly what you need so you’re not disappointed at the end.
Providing your designer with a creative brief before a project kicks off will help them work more quickly and efficiently, and will save you time and money on revisions.

How to use the Creative Brief template
Once you purchase, you’ll be provided two download files. The first is a PDF getting started guide that helps you navigate through the process. The second is a zip file with all of the items listed above. You’ll want to download both. After downloading the package, locate the “Creative Brief General Template” zipped file on your computer and unzip the file. If you didn’t select a location when you downloaded the package, it’s most likely in your downloads or on your desktop.
Google Docs is the best way to use this document, but it is also compatible with Microsoft Word. I prefer Google Docs since it doesn’t require any additional software and it’s really user friendly.
In your Google Drive, click on “New” and then “File Upload”. Locate the “Creative Brief General Template” and “Creative Brief Worksheet General” files from the window that pops up.
Answer the questions in the worksheet and put your responses in the correct areas of the template. When you’re finished, download (or save as) a PDF document. That’s what you’ll be sending to your freelancers.
